Bar Mitzvah Cocktail Receptions

Many of our Bar and Bat Mitzvah clients have a one hour cocktail reception prior to opening the doors to the ballroom. Many Jewish events start late in the evening after sundown or later if there is a Havdalah service. A cocktail hour provides the opportunity to get your guests warmed up for the party, as well as to give them some much-needed food and drink in order to tide them over until dinner is served. Also, it is common to provide some non-musical performers during the cocktail hour to entertain the kids and keep them involved. Below are some suggestions for cocktail hour entertainment.

• Bands: All of our bands are able to provide musicians for the cocktail reception. You can choose to have a solo pianist or put together a small combo like piano, bass and saxophone.
  
  
• Disc Jockeys: Your DJ will be able to play music for you during the cocktail hour. Many of our DJ's also are able to provide Karaoke services.
  
  
• Variety Acts: Please consult our partial listing of variety acts ranging from MTV style video booths, computer buttons and magicians to arcade games and jugglers. If you don't see what you're looking for--chances are we can find it for you.
  
  
• Classical and String Ensembles: Although less common for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, some clients prefer to start off with the understated elegance of a classical string ensemble during the cocktail hour and save the dancing until the dinner reception.
  
  
• Jazz Groups: Similar to the classical ensembles, some of our clients contract jazz ensembles for the Bar Mitzvah cocktail hour.

Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah Dinner Receptions

Our entertainers are all experienced in the particular needs of Bar and Bat Mitzvah clients. It is a practiced art to balance the enthusiasm of the kids with the needs of the adults at the party. From prayers, toasts and candle-lighting ceremonies to games like coke & pepsi or huggy bear, we will work closely with you and your child to plan a spectacular celebration.

• Bands: All of our bands are "variety" dance bands that specialize in appealing to partiers of all of ages and musical tastes. Each band also has an Emcee capable of making all announcements, assisting with the candlelighting and running all the games and contests. • Disc Jockeys: Our DJ's will provide exactly the right combination of music to keep your guests on the dance floor. You can choose the music, games and contests in consultation with your DJ to create the style of party that you and your child would like.
